These terms govern your use of the Spellro Chrome extension and this website (together, "Spellro"), developed and maintained by MarketingSip ("we", "us"). By installing or using Spellro, you agree to these terms.
1. What Spellro is
Spellro is a free browser extension that (a) offers a one-click grammar, spelling and punctuation correction tool that sends your selected text to Groq's API using an API key you provide, and (b) offers a text shortcut expander that runs entirely locally in your browser.
2. Your Groq API key and account
Spellro requires you to obtain and provide your own API key from Groq (console.groq.com) to use the grammar-correction feature. Your relationship with Groq — including their pricing, rate limits, uptime, and acceptable use policies — is between you and Groq. We are not responsible for Groq's service, its availability, or any charges or limits Groq applies to your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Spellro to:
- Violate any law or the rights of any third party.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute Spellro for commercial purposes without our written permission.
- Interfere with or disrupt the extension, the website, or Groq's infrastructure.
4. Your content
You retain full ownership of any text you process through Spellro. We do not claim any rights to it, and as explained in our Privacy Policy, we never receive or store it on our own servers.
5. Third-party services
Spellro relies on Groq's API to perform text correction. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the accuracy, availability, or output of Groq's service. Corrections are generated by an AI model and may occasionally be imperfect — you're responsible for reviewing corrected text before relying on it, especially for important or sensitive communications.
6. Sponsor content
Spellro may display a small, clearly labeled sponsor panel (including promotion of MarketingSip's own services) after a correction or shortcut expansion. This can be disabled at any time in Spellro's settings. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any linked third-party website.
7. No warranty
Spellro is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee Spellro will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every website.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MarketingSip and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Spellro — including damages arising from Groq API outages, incorrect corrections, or data loss related to shortcuts or settings stored locally on your device.
9. Changes to Spellro or these terms
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of Spellro at any time. We may also update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
10. Termination
You may stop using Spellro at any time by removing the extension from Chrome, which also removes all locally stored data associated with it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where MarketingSip operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, to the extent permitted by local law.
